Dr. Tim Dailey is the Director of Bands for the Milford Exempted Village School District in Milford, OH.  Prior to his 2018 appointment to the Milford Band Program, Dr. Dailey was the Director of Bands at Grant County High School in Dry Ridge, KY for five years.  Under his direction, the Grant County Band Program doubled in size, won the 2015 KMEA Class 4A State Marching Band Championship, and received accolades for the Jazz Ensemble, Brass Choir, and Winter Guard.  Additionally, Dr. Dailey serves as Principal Trumpet and Assistant Conductor of “Cincinnati’s Own” Fillmore Wind Band who most recently performed at the 2017 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, University of Arkansas, and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Dr. Dailey is an active performer on the trumpet, and freelances regularly in the Greater Cincinnati Area.  His performance credits include the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, the Fort Smith Symphony Orchestra, the Lima Symphony Orchestra, the Lexington Philharmonic, the Ozark Mountains British Brass Band, the Boston Mountains Brassworks, the Fayetteville Jazz Collective, and the Fillmore Wind Band. 

When he isn’t teaching or playing music, Dr. Dailey enjoys reading, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Mackenzie and daughter, Sophie. 


Mr. Andrew Desmond

Andrew Desmond has been an Assistant Director for the Milford Band program since 2018. Mr. Desmond directs the high school Symphonic Band, teaches 6-8 band classes, and assists with the Milford Marching Band. Prior to his appointment in Milford, Mr. Desmond was the Director of Bands at Lake Oswego High School in Oregon where he directed the school’s three concert bands and jazz band as well as taught beginning band classes. The Lake Oswego Wind Ensemble qualified for the Oregon 6A State Band Championships every year of Mr. Desmond’s tenure and was selected to perform at the 2019 NAfME All-Northwest Conference. He also served as Coordinator of Secondary Music Programs for the Lake Oswego School District during the 2017-2018 school year.

Mr. Desmond has an extensive background in the marching arts. He performed as a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps on both tuba and baritone. From 2015-2018, he was a visual instructor with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, acting as the assistant visual caption head in 2018. In 2019, he joined the instructional staff of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as the visual caption head. He has also served on the instructional staffs of the Oregon Crusaders Drum Corps and the WGI Independent World group Cap City Indoor Percussion. In addition, Mr. Desmond has worked as a marching band judge for the Northwest Association for the Performing Arts.

Mr. Desmond earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Ohio State University. While at Ohio State he performed with several of the university’s premier ensembles, including the Wind Symphony and Marching Band.


Ms. Jodi Smith

Jodi Smith is the Milford Junior High School band director since the 2014-2015 school year. Ms. Smith returned to the district after serving 8 years as the assistant high school band director from 1999-2007. Her current duties include 6th grade beginning band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band and assisting with high school curricular and extra-curricular bands.

A native of north-central Ohio and cum laude graduate of Bowling Green State University, Ms. Smith was a recipient of the flute studio’s Music Talent Award for undergraduate music majors, and a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota music service fraternity. Following graduation she was an assistant band director at Elder High School on the west side of Cincinnati for three years before beginning at Milford in the fall of 1999. The Milford Concert Band consistently earned superior ratings in Class B at the OMEA Large Group event during her tenure. Throughout the last several years she has maintained a private flute studio at Walnut Hills High School as well as serving as a flute/woodwind clinician at numerous local schools.

Ms. Smith maintains an active performing schedule, serving as co-principal flute/piccolo of the Fillmore Wind Band, the pre-eminent wind band in the Cincinnati area. She is also a founding member of the Fillmore Chamber Music Society, formed in 2014.

Ms. Smith currently resides in Deer Park with her partner, Nick.


Mr. Brandon Dittgen

Brandon Dittgen has served as Assistant Director of Bands with the Milford Exempted Village School District since 2018. His teaching duties include 6th grade band, MHS Concert Band and coordinating the 7-12 percussion studies. Mr. Dittgen assists with the Marching Band and directs the Milford High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble.

Mr. Dittgen holds a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of the Cumberlands. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University where he was a performing member of the award-winning MSU Marching Percussion Ensemble, and The MSU Steel Drum Band. Prior to his appointment at Milford, Mr. Dittgen served as Band Director at Nicholas County Schools in Carlisle, KY.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Dittgen maintains a steady schedule as a composer and arranger specializing in music for band and percussion. His original compositions and arrangements have been featured at several state and national festivals and are exclusively published through C. Alan Publications and Row-Loff Productions.

Mr. Dittgen serves as Program Coordinator for the Fillmore Wind Band of Cincinnati, who performed at the 2017 Mid-West Clinic and annually hosts ‘WindFest’ at Cincinnati Music Hall. His professional associations include the Percussive Arts Society (PAS) and The Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA). Mr. Dittgen is a contributing member of the Vic Firth Education Team and the D’Addario Education Collective.
