The Milford High School Wind Ensemble is the top ensemble at the high school level. It is compromised of students in grades 10-12 who audition each spring for admittance to the band the following fall. The band performs four school concerts per year in addition to performing at OMEA Large Group Contest. The students of the Wind Ensemble are strongly encouraged to take private lessons and must complete concert critiques each semester. The band is under the direction of Dr. Tim Dailey.
The majority of the students in Wind Ensemble participate in District XIV Solo & Ensemble each year where they consistently receive I (superior) ratings. Members of the ensemble are also encouraged to audition for district honor band and OMEA All-State Band. In addition, students can participate in the Pep Band in the winter and the Jazz Band each winter and spring, as well as smaller ensemble groups throughout the year.
