This Week in Milford Bands

End-of-Season Posters

To celebrate our marchers' hard work over the course of the season, Milford Band families traditionally create a poster for their marcher(s) that hangs in the school cafeteria during the last few days of the season. Even without a competitive season, the Band's hard work and dedication to the music deserve to be recognized! Here are some guidelines:
  • Posters can be made on poster board or foam board, and should be 22"W x 28"H or smaller.
  • Put your student's name and grade on the back of poster.
  • Examples of posters from last year are available in this SmugMug album.
  • Get creative! In prior years, posters have typically followed the show theme. This year, consider photos that cover not just Band activities, but also activities that your student has been pursuing during this "2020 Kind of Band Season".
  • As much as possible, we try to keep these a surprise for first-year marchers.
To help build your student's poster, feel free to use the photos that our volunteer photographers have been uploading to SmugMug throughout the season. Link to the albums here. If you need help building the poster, you may find these instructions helpful.

Due to limited access to the school, Boosters will take care of hanging posters this year. You can start dropping posters off at the Milford High School Office beginning today (Monday Oct 5). Please have all posters dropped off by Thursday Oct 8 to allow time for hanging. Make sure your student's name and grade are on the back of the poster!

Virtual Donation Day

Our Virtual Donation Day fundraiser was a huge success, raising over $13,000 for the Milford Band programs! Thanks to all of our Band members who took part by creating and sharing a personalized fundraiser page. Thanks also to the many family, friends, and neighbors who contributed to the fundraiser.

Individual student donation pages closed on Sunday night, but the general fundraiser page will remain open through October. The top earning individuals and section will be announced as soon as we finish tabulating remaining check donations.

Senior Night /

Marching Band Showcase

On Tuesday Oct 13, the Marching Band will celebrate Senior Night and host the 2020 Marching Showcase. We'll begin at 6:15pm in the MHS Football Stadium with the recognition of the Marching Band Seniors, and the Marching Showcase will follow at 7pm, featuring all of our 2020 Marching Band members. Each student will be permitted to invite up to 5 spectators. Updates and admission information will be provided as they become available.

Dine to Donate - Rapid Fired Pizza

Join the Milford Band for our next Dine to Donate event at Rapid Fired Pizza (200 Chamber Dr, Milford)! Mark your calendar for Tuesday Oct 27 from 10:30am-9pm. Enjoy amazingly good, amazingly fast, fresh made pizza ready in just 180 seconds, with a portion of profits will be given back to the Milford Band! The flier and additional information will be posted when available.

    Booster Notes

    Regular Booster Meetings

    Milford Band Boosters meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for July and December). All meetings start at 7pm. Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. When possible, Band Boosters meetings are held at Milford High School. When necessary, they will be scheduled as virtual meetings, with login information provided prior to the meeting.

    Upcoming Band Boosters meetings are scheduled on: Oct 27, Nov 24, Jan 26, Feb 23, Mar 23, Apr 27, May 25, and Jun 22.

    Marching Band Photos

    Our Boosters photogaphers have been hard at work during Band Camp and pep band performances at football games. Photos are available for free download from our SmugMug albums. The album password is speak2020.
