Congratulations! Your child (and you) have made it to Week 2 of Band Camp!
We have seen quite a bit of change over the past week...with the MidStates Band Association and Bands of America canceling their competitive seasons, the Milford Band has transitioned into a noncompetitive season. If you have not read Dr. Dailey's announcement about plans for the upcoming season, I encourage you to read through his post in the Marching Band Facebook group for more details.
Despite the change in the season, Band Camp will be continuing as planned previously. Full section ensembles will be gathering this week, as our veteran marchers join the new marchers. Just a reminder that instruments have assigned times starting this week:
- Woodwinds 8am-12pm
- Brass 12:30-4:30pm
- Color Guard 5-9pm
- Percussion 5:30-9pm
All of our COVID safety guidelines are still in place (COVID Guidelines for Band Camp). Students should continue to bring masks, full water jugs, and buckets (brass instruments only), and only come to rehearsal if they are feeling healthy.
The upcoming season will be a very different one, but as Dr. Dailey said, there is still a lot of great music to be made. I know that band kids are a family and will work hard to perform in any fashion, as long as they get to be together. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected]. If you are not already receiving the Band Boosters newsletter, I strongly suggest signing up for it at www.milfordbands.org/connect. It is your best resource for information on fees, refunds, etc., as well as Booster plans for the season.

It may be a noncompetitive season, but that doesn't mean we need to stop showing our Milford Band spirit! Each year the Band Boosters partners with Apparel Decor in Milford to sell Marching Band spirit wear for the season. The 2020 Spirit Wear Store is open for business at https://stores.inksoft.com/milfordband2020. Long- and short-sleeved tees, hoodies, hats, and polos, as well as stickers, clings, magnets and yard signs in your choice of design (Guard, Percussion, or Marching)!
Milford Band receives a portion of all sales. The sale ends at midnight on Sunday Aug 9--get your order in today! Questions? Contact Lisa Jacobsen ([email protected]).

Volunteers Needed
Band Boosters still need volunteers to assist with student screenings and chaperone duties at Band Camp over the next two weeks. Please consider helping out for one or more shifts--some shifts are as short as 30 minutes! Sign up at:

Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. When possible, Band Boosters meetings are held at Milford High School.
