New Marchers Newsletter #2020-2

Welcome to Band Camp!

It's almost time...Monday begins your family's first experience in the Milford Marching Band! I know this year will look different, but I know you will love the amazing program our school has!
Just a few reminders for New Marcher Band Camp, which begins on Monday, July 20:
  • Camp runs from 8am-12pm. Students need to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for health screening, and must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after rehearsal.
  • Please take your child's temperature before coming to school. If they have a fever, or are the least bit sick, they should stay home and not come to Camp. If this happens, be sure to email Dr. Dailey ([email protected]) to let him know.
  • Masks are required. Students without masks will not be allowed to participate in Camp.
  • Students should bring a large jug of water. The larger the better, as they will not be permitted to refill at school.
  • Brass musicians need to bring a bucket for indoor rehearsals.
  • Please make sure you have completed your Final Forms (https://milford-oh.finalforms.com), including having a physical on file with the school district.
  • Please make sure you have reviewed and signed all forms in the 2020 Marching Band Handbook, and paid your fees to the school district and the Band Boosters.
Even with the shorter camp days, your marcher will come back tired, but also excited! This is just the beginning of another AMAZING season! If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected].

Volunteers Needed

Band Boosters still need volunteers to assist with student screenings and chaperone duties when Band Camp opens on July 20. Please consider helping out for one or more shifts--some shifts are as short as 30 minutes! Sign up at:

Registration and Fees

Have you completed all the required paperwork and paid fees for the 2020 Marching Band season? Details are in the Marching Band Handbook, which Dr. Dailey sent out earlier this year. Please review and make sure all of the following are complete before Band Camp opens on July 20:
  • Final Forms registration (https://milford-oh.finalforms.com)
  • All paper registration forms (Letter of Agreement, Registration, etc.) completed and returned to Band Boosters
  • Fees paid (either in full, or per the installment schedule)

Band Boosters Notes

Milford Band Boosters meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for July and December). All meetings start at 7pm. Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. When possible, Band Boosters meetings are held at Milford High School. When necessary, they will be scheduled as virtual meetings (Zoom or a comparable platform), and login information will be provided prior to the meeting.
