Uniform Checks on Thursday 8/29

Thursday, August 29th is a uniform bib (pants) check and dress rehearsal practice. All Band members should wear compression blacks and black socks, and bring your shoes! Uniform checks will start promptly at 5:00pm. Please be on time so we can get everyone checked and onto the field by 5:30pm.

Support the Band While You Shop!

Did you know you can support Milford Bands when shopping at Kroger and Amazon? We are part of the Kroger Community Rewards and Amazon Smile programs--when you link your accounts to Milford Bands, each company donates a percentage of your purchase back to the Band!

Here's how:
  • Link your Kroger Plus account by visiting Click the "I'm a Customer" button, log in to your account, and select our organization (Milford Band Boosters #QU736). Once you link your account, just swipe your Plus Card every time you shop at Kroger.
  • Link your Amazon account by going to and selecting Milford Public School Band Boosters as your charitable organization.

Subway Orders for 9/7 Kings Competition

For the Kings HS competition on Saturday 9/7, the Boosters will be organizing a meal (Subway box meals) for all Band and Guard members, as well as chaperones, uniform volunteers, pit crew, and other staff/volunteers as needed.

If you have not yet placed your order, please sign up at this link. If you do not need a meal, please use the link to let us know so we don't order unneeded food. The deadline for signing up is Wednesday 8/28. Contact Becky Grilliot ([email protected]) with questions.

Aug 27 Boosters Meeting

The next meeting of the Milford Band Boosters will be held on Tuesday, August 27 in the MHS Band Room, starting at 7pm. We welcome all attendees--come learn what the Boosters are planning for the upcoming year, and find out how you can get involved! Contact Jason Long ([email protected]) with any questions.

Dine to Donate @ Red Robin (9/10)

Our next Band Boosters Dine to Donate is coming up soon! On September 10, head to Red Robin in Milford (45 Rivers Edge Dr) from 5 to 9 pm! Mark your calendars and bring the whole family out for a great dinner and support our band! The flier will be posted the week prior to the event.

New Volunteer Opportunities

Chaperones for Competitions and Home Games

Chaperones help keep track of students, enforce "travel rules", assist with uniforms, and other tasks as needed. They may help move equipment onto the field for this year's show.

Chaperones need to have an approved background check. No experience necessary; rookie chaperones will be paired with experienced chaperones.

Marching Band Corner


August 30 Post-Game Party

The first Senior Party of the season will take place this Friday night (8/30) after the football game. All current Marching Band members are invited. These parties are chaperoned by band
parents and are a safe, fun way for the kids to socialize after a home game.

The party will be hosted by the Todys family at their home (1683 Gray Fox Tr, Milford). Street parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. The party will start after the students are dismissed following the game, and will conclude at midnight. Please bring party items as follows:
  • Seniors: Bring pop or water.
  • Color Guard seniors: Bring plates, napkins and cups.
  • Juniors: Bring salty snacks.
  • Sophomores: Bring a side dish or snack.
  • Freshmen: Bring desserts or marshmallows.

Oct 4 Party Hosts

We are still looking for senior parent hosts for the October 4 band party! Hosts provide the main course and then ask for specific donations for the evening. If you are available to host, please contact Julie Ford ([email protected]) to let her know how many chaperones you will need and what donations you are requesting. Julie will manage the sign-up for donations.

Cookie Donations

Following their halftime performance at each home football game, the Band and Guard celebrate with cookies and drinks in the end zone. We rely on the generosity of our band families to provide these snacks. Donations of prepackaged cookie can be left with a director or in the cookie bin, which is located in the uniform closet (look for the yellow lid). Cookies such as sugar, chocolate chip, Fig Newtons, etc. are great options. Please avoid cookies with lots of chocolate, as they will melt.

School Store

For the past few years, the School Store has been the Band programs' biggest money maker, and we need lots of help to make it happen again this year. Rhonda Friedland and Jody Morgan will train you and work with you until you are comfortable on your own.

Spirit Wear Sales

Help sell spirit wear at the home football games. Set up about an hour before kickoff and pack it all up in the 3rd quarter. You will get into the game free and you will get to see the band perform at halftime.

Booster Odds and Ends

2019/20 Meeting Schedule

Band Boosters meetings for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for July and December). All meetings start at 7pm in the Milford High School Band Room. Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for August 27, September 24, October 22, November 26, January 28, February 25, March 24, April 28, May 26, and June 23.


It isn’t too late to join the Milford Band Boosters! Membership is only $10 per family and comes with a photo button of your favorite band member(s).
