Help Still Needed for Fundraiser Pickup
|
The Band Boosters still need ~25 adults and students to help with fundraiser pickups on Sat 12/14. Opportunities are available on all shifts--to help with set up and distribution in the Band Room. We need all hands on deck--this is one of the biggest Booster fundraisers of the year, and helps students in all of the band programs. Pickup Times for Band Spirit Wear

If you ordered Band Spirit Wear, orders can be picked up in the High School Store this week at the following times:
|
- Mon 12/9 thru Fri 12/13 from 2:05-3:00pm
- Wed 12/11 from 5:45-6:45pm (before the Disney 2021 meeting)
- Thu 12/12 from 5:45-6:45pm (before the High School Band Concert)
If you can't make any of the above times, contact Jody Morgan at (513) 470-8026 to make arrangements for other pick up times or even home delivery!

Deck the Halls with BBQ and brisket for the Band! Our next Dine-to-Donate event is coming up this Wed 12/11 at Pickles & Bones BBQ (1149 Route 131, Milford). This event will run from 11am to 7pm (or until sell-out). No flier is needed for the discount--just mention Milford Bands at checkout, and 20% of your purchase will be donated back to the band!

Walt Disney World 2021 Kickoff Meeting - Dec 11
|
|
Every four years, the Milford Marching Band travels to Walt Disney World for a combined tour and performance The next trip is scheduled for the 2020-21 school year and will take place from January 14-19, 2021. Join us for a kickoff information meeting on Wed 12/11 at 7pm in the MHS Band Room. Greg Moore from Music Travel Consultants, who has organized the Milford WDW trips for nearly 20 years, will be presenting information on the trip and answering questions.

Please note that this trip is for all members of the 2020 Milford Marching Band, including incoming freshmen. Please help pass this information along to families of incoming freshmen and other prospective members.

HS Ensembles Concert -Dec 12
|
|
The Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble will perform their Winter Concert on Thu 12/12 at 7pm in the MHS Gymnasium. Admission is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:45pm. Hope to see you there!

Fall Fundraiser Pickup - Dec 14
|
|
It's finally time to pick up your Yankee candles, Butter Braids, cookie dough, poinsettias, and Sudz! Fundraiser item pickup is scheduled for Sat 12/14 from 9am-12:30pm in the MHS Band Room. Please plan to pick up your items at that time, or make arrangements for someone else to do so. The Boosters do not have access to refrigerated storage for items, and are not responsible for damage to items that are not picked up on that day.

Band Boosters Scholarship
|
The Band Boosters will once again be awarding a $500 nonrenewable scholarship to a graduating senior who has been active in Band (or Guard) for at least three years, and who is planning to attend a four-year institution to further his/her education in music performance, arts (dance), or music education. The Local Scholarships Packet will be released the week of 12/9, with applications due Fri 1/24. Marching Band Calendar -
2020
|
The band directors have published the 2020 Marching Band calendar. The schedule includes some changes from prior years that should allow families more freedom during the summer months and create a better weekly routine during the season. Competition dates have not been released yet but will be provided when available.
|
Please feel free to share this schedule with anyone who may be interested, especially prospective new members!

Plans are underway for the 2020 Milford Winter Show on March 7. Winter Guard and Drumline ensembles from around the tri-state area will be visiting Milford High School to compete in the event.
|
We are currently seeking food donations (candy, snacks, drinks, etc.) for the event--if you are connected with a company that may be able to help, please contact [email protected] to get in touch.

|
Band Boosters meetings for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for July and December). All meetings start at 7pm in the Milford High School Band Room. Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for 1/28, 2/25, 3/24, 4/28, 5/26, and 6/23.

Sell snacks and spirit wear in the School Store before and after school. Rhonda Friedland and Jody Morgan will train you and work with you until you are comfortable on your own.
