Welcome to Band Camp!

The day is finally upon us...welcome to Band Camp! Rehearsals will start at 9am sharp each day this week. Notes from Dr. Dailey:
This is the first full week for everyone. We have drill to set and a lot of new material will be taught every day. Students will also have time in small sub-sectionals to rehearse music with staff who are specialists on their instrument.The schedule for the week will be:
  • 9-12: Visual Rehearsal
  • 12-1:Lunch
  • 1-3: Sub Sectionals
  • 3-4: Music Ensemble

Kona Ice

The Kona Ice Truck is coming to Band camp during lunch this Thursday 7/23!

Prices are $3 (12oz), $4 (16oz), and $5 (22oz). Join us in the Band parking lot for a cool break.

Parent Preview Show

Join the Marching Band as they present their Parent Preview Show, the grand finale of three long weeks of Band Camp! Performance starts at 7pm in the stadium.
Before the show, tailgate with the Band Boosters starting at 6pm! Meet new band families, reconnect with friends, buy some spirit wear, and sign up to volunteer on a Boosters committee!

End of Camp Party

We will celebrate the end of Band Camp on Thursday 8/1 from 9pm to midnight at Miami Hills Swim and Tennis Club, right after the Parent Preview Show.

Each student MUST bring a signed waiver to Miami Hills on the night of party. Download the waiver here.

Freshmen / Seniors – Please bring soda/juice to share.
Sophomores / Juniors – Please bring bagged snack or baked good to share.

Volunteers Needed!!!

Band Camp is in full swing, the season is right around the corner, and Band Boosters need your help! The Boosters' volunteer goal is to have every parent volunteer two times or more during Marching Band season (July - November). Please look through the volunteer opportunities listed below and use the SignupGenius links to let us know where you can assist.

Band Camp Chaperones

July 22 - Aug 1
Assist marchers during camp and breaks, and help with lunches.

Uniform Fitting

July 23-31
No sewing required! Help band members to on uniforms, shoes, hats, etc. to make sure of fit, and record size and/or number by marchers name.

Band Camp Dinner Volunteers

July 29 - Aug 1
Help with dinner setup, serving, and cleanup for the Band and Guard during the 12 hour camp days.

StreetEats Miami

Aug 3-4
Help the Boosters staff volunteer shifts at this food truck and music festival, featuring a performance by the Marching Band! Band Boosters will receive a $1500 donation in appreciation for our volunteer work.

Dessert Donations for Band Camp

Each year, the Boosters request dessert donations for Band Camp dinners to help stretch our food budget. Store-bought, bakery or homemade items are all acceptable. The students love anything sweet!
Desserts are needed on the following schedule--please note which class is responsible for dessert on which night:
  • Monday 7/29: Freshmen bring desserts.
  • Tuesday 7/30: Sophomores bring desserts.
  • Wednesday 7/31: Juniors bring desserts.
  • Thursday 8/1: Seniors bring desserts.
All items can be dropped off to the cafeteria in the specifically marked area. If you have a student with an allergy, and wish to donate allergy-safe items, please label them clearly. Thank you for your support of Band Camp!

The Band Boosters’ Chipotle Fundraiser Is this Tuesday 7/23--hope to see you there!
More information:
  • Online orders will not be included in the fundraiser total; only in-store purchases will count.
  • Be sure to show the fundraiser flier (printout or on your phone) OR tell the cashier before you pay that you are there for a fundraiser! If you don’t tell the cashier, the Band Boosters won’t get credit for the sale.
  • We are NOT permitted to hand out fliers to anyone (including our own supporters) or promote the event inside or outside of the restaurant or in the parking lot at any time—that’s cheating! Violation of this policy will result in our fundraiser being cancelled.

Senior Corner

Attention Seniors:
  • On Monday 7/22, please plan for a quick meeting immediately after band camp in the cafeteria. You will be providing input to the Boosters on Senior Night activities.
  • Also, make sure to accept the invitation to the Senior page on Facebook, and make sure you are receiving notifications from the page. As planning evolves for your senior activities, we will be using this page to quickly get information and your thoughts. We are looking forward to a great year!
Attention Senior Parents:
  • On Monday 7/29, please plan for a meeting at 7pm. We need to review activities for Senior Night on 7/31 (we will need chaperones), We also need to discuss Senior Night at the stadium, the senior trip, senior parties, banners and more.
  • Please sign up for Senior Night donations at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4EADAB2AAA8-seniors
Also, we need to find senior parent hosts for this season's band parties. Hosts provide the main course and then ask for specific donations for the evening. Please check your calendar for the dates that still need hosts (Aug 30, Sep 13, and Oct 4). If you are available to host one of the dates, please contact Julie Ford ([email protected]) to let her know how many chaperones you will need and what donations you are requesting. Julie will manage the sign-up for donations.

2019 - 2020 Booster Meeting Schedule

Band Boosters meetings for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for July and December). All meetings start at 7pm in the Milford High School Band Room. Attendance is open to anyone, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for August 27, September 24, October 22, November 26, January 28, February 25, March 24, April 28, May 26, and June 23.
